Built in the mid-1850s by Ivan and Dobri Chintulov, this charming house showcases the typical Revival-style architecture of Sliven – open, asymmetrical, with wooden bay windows and verandas. The renowned poet, educator, and church figure Dobri Chintulov lived and worked here until his death in 1886.

After being sold in 1918, the new owner made numerous changes. The bay window and the rooms above it were converted into separate rooms with new doors and windows. An external stone staircase with a cement railing was added, and modifications were made to the lower part of the house. In the courtyard, the sheds were removed, the well fell out of use, and an additional structure was built.

Following a complete restoration, a fully renovated exhibition opened in 2024, inviting visitors to explore Dobri Chintulov’s rich legacy as a teacher, civic leader, delegate to the First Church National Assembly in Constantinople (1871), member of the Temporary City Council, compiler of numerous handwritten textbooks, and author of nearly 20 poems.
